This policy explains what personal information SØLIS Studio collects, why, and what you can do about it. It covers both joining our email list and buying from the shop. If you only want a quick summary of your data rights and how to make a request, see our Your data page.
Who we are
SØLIS Studio is a small clothing brand based in the United Kingdom. The data controller is Alyssia Jackson, founder of SØLIS Studio. You can reach us at thesolisstudio@hotmail.com, or by post at The Pump House, Chorley, PR6 9AY.
What we collect
Depending on how you use the site, we may collect:
- Email list: your email address, given through the signup form.
- When you order: your name, email address, delivery address, phone number, the items you bought, and your order history.
- Payment: your card payment is handled directly by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — we only receive confirmation that payment succeeded and a reference to it.
- Technical: a small cart cookie so your basket works, and basic information your browser sends when you visit.
How we use it, and why we’re allowed to
- To process and deliver your order, send order confirmations and shipping updates, and handle returns — this is necessary to perform our contract with you.
- To send launch and marketing emails — only where you’ve joined the list or asked for them; you can unsubscribe at any time (consent).
- To meet our legal duties, such as keeping order and tax records (legal obligation).
- To run and protect the shop — preventing fraud and keeping the site working (legitimate interests).
We will not sell or rent your personal data, and we won’t share your email with third parties for their own marketing.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted companies to run the shop. They only process your data on our instructions:
- Stripe — secure payment processing.
- Resend — sending email (order confirmations and our mailing list).
- Vercel — website hosting, database, and product image storage.
- Royal Mail (and any courier we use) — to deliver your order and provide tracking.
We may also disclose data where the law requires it. Some providers may process data outside the UK; where they do, they are covered by appropriate safeguards such as UK-approved data transfer terms.
Cookies
We keep cookies to a minimum. We use a small cart cookie so your basket remembers your items, and a login cookie if you sign in to an account. These are essential for the site to work. We don’t use third-party advertising trackers.
How long we keep it
- Marketing emails: until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete you.
- Orders: we keep order and transaction records for up to 6 years, because HMRC requires us to keep business and tax records for that long.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. You can exercise any of these — including unsubscribing from emails — by emailing thesolisstudio@hotmail.com. There’s a plain-English walkthrough on our Your data page.
If you believe we’ve mishandled your data, you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
We’ll update this page if anything material changes. The “last updated” date at the top will always reflect the latest revision.
